Maternity Style

This blogpost contains clothing gifted by PinkBlush. All opinions are my own.

I don’t know if I just have more of an appreciation for my ever changing pregnant body or I finally found my style and just happen to be pregnant at the same time as my light bulb fashion moment? But either way y’all… I have SO enjoyed my maternity style this time around and PinkBlush has a lot to do with helping me feel confident and cute while rocking my bump. From the amazing range of pieces they carry in their boutique to the inclusive size range I have been shopping and working with them since I had Jax.

SHOP: Black Zipper Hem Maternity Plus Pants I sized up in these black denim pants just to make sure they would fit my curves properly and I am glad I did. I am wearing a size 2x.

My goal when finding maternity pieces is the same as shopping for non maternity pieces. I am not worried about a size on a tag. This has taken me a long time to get over. I used to feel like that size defined me and my body. Not anymore! No one sees the tag anyways, they see how well something fits you and when your clothes fit properly you feel confident! I’ve learned to shop where I know they will have something that will fit my curves. Y’all know I love PinkBlush and in every photo you will see me wearing a piece gifted to me from them as well as a link to shop and my thoughts on each piece. When shopping I think about the following four things, the fit, the trend, the price, and the event. Let me break it down for you!

SHOP: Smocked Ruffle Maternity Top It’s hard to tell but this is an off the shoulder top, which I love! In hindsight I should’ve put my hair up and shown off my water park tan lines. I love the ruffles on the sleeves and the smocking on the bust helps your girls look their best! I am wearing a size 1X.

The Fit: Pregnant bodies are daily different and it’s important that you shop for pieces that will fit with your ever changing curves. That means, the fabric in each piece should have some stretch in it. Stretch denim will be your bestie and ribbed fabric tops will give the perfect amount of stretch while still showing off your bump so people know they need to hold open the door for you and help you carry your groceries.

SHOP: Rust Ribbed Front Knot Top: The color and fit of this ribbed knot top is just simply fantastic. Also, I should mention that it’s lightweight. In Texas right now it is pushing 100 degrees daily and I’ve been wearing this top when we’re out as a family because it’s so lightweight yet still not see thru. And this rust color besides being a trendy color for this fall, it is simply gorgeous! I am wearing a 1X.

The Trend: So this is not so much about whether that piece is “in or not” but more so about if the trend will stand the test of time. Meaning, I want it to stay in my closet for longer than a season. If something is SUPER trendy I probably won’t buy it. Trends that will always find themselves in our closets and that I tend to always shop are destructed denim, a good tunic blouse, and a denim jacket.

SHOP: Maternity Tunic Top About this top, I LOVE IT!!! Who knew you could get away with a french tuck and still be 6 months pregnant? You are going to see me in this tunic top A LOT! Once again it’s a piece that stands the test of time and can stay in my closet year round. I am wearing a size 1X. I probably could’ve sized down for a more fitted tunic look if I had wanted to.

The Price: Y’all know me, I can be the thriftiest shopper and pay 50 cents for something that I wear on a weekly basis but when it comes to maternity clothes I splurge on the pieces that I know will get the most wear during the 9 months I am pregnant. It’s important to invest in quality in those pieces! Denim, bras (yes, I said bras), and handful of tops that can carry you through each trimester as well as into your post-partum months. Because we all know our bodies take a bit to adjust after our little babies are born.

SHOP: Mustard Striped Peplum Maternity Top Let’s just stop and pause at the gorgeous mustard color of this top! It’s beautiful. Everything on this top is beautiful, from the fit to the length, it’s overall perfect and for the price of $36, it’s truly a piece worth investing in! I am wearing a 1X.

The Event: When it comes to looking for those special pieces that may only get worn once, PinkBlush has been my go to for one of a kind maternity and non-maternity dresses. If you open my closet right now I have 7 of them hanging ready to be worn at anytime. The fit has always been perfect and I’ve been able to wear them while I am pregnant or not pregnant. This blue chiffon dress was worn for my sister in law’s quinceañera a few weeks ago. It was complimented so much and just perfect for the very special celebration.

SHOP: Navy Chiffon Bell Sleeve Maternity Dress: This dress was EXACTLY what I needed for the special celebration we had in our family. Not only was the color spot on with the theme of the party but this fit was perfect for my bump and also, chasing after a toddler. I was a little self conscious about the deep v cut in the bust but my husband and family reassured me that it looked great! I hope I have another fancy event where I can wear this dress because it deserves another night on the town! I am wearing a 1X.

Remember, whatever season you’re in you deserve to feel confident in what you’re wearing.

A size does not define you.

Rock what you’ve got and show the world your curves!
