Post-Partum Favorites for Mama and Baby

There’s no question that post-partum life is just as rough as those last few weeks of pregnancy. You’re not only adjusting to life with a newborn but your body is doing it’s best to slowly find a new normal. (I was going to say go back to normal but who am I kidding… your littles forever change your body in such a good way). I’ve been home for 2 weeks and Leo has been home with us for a little over a week. I thought I would share my must haves for post partum life as a mama and as a baby. All of these items are used daily in our home and have helped make the transition so much easier for us. And by us, I mean mostly me, the mama.

(In no way am I sponsored by any of these brands and you won’t find affiliate links anywhere. All of this stuff was purchased by our family!)

For Mama

The Haakka : I wish I would’ve known about this handy dandy manual breast pump when I was pregnant with Jax. I don’t use it as a pump though, I use it on the opposite side when I am feeding Leo and it catches all the leakage.

Re-useable Make Up Pads : These are genius for popping in your bra when you’re out and about and might experience a little leakage. The face that I can wash and re-use them is a huge plus for me! They are also super absorbent!

Nursing Maternity Bras : Every mama needs a solid nursing bras and these are my favorite! No wires poking you and the clip makes it easy to bust out the boob when you need to. They also come with removable pads which come in handy again for the leakage.

The Perfect Bar : This is my 3am snack when I get up with Leo and find myself starving! I grab one from the fridge and munch on it while I am feeding him. It’s got a great amount of protein in it to keep me full until breakfast and plus who doesn’t love the peanut butter and chocolate combo?!?

Nyssa Care FourthWear Underwear : I have shouted the praises of these chones from the mountain tops. Y’all these are amazing! If you’re looking for a great gift for an expectant mama in your life please do her a favor and buy her a pair of these!

Ikea Body Pillow : I first bought this pillow to use to help me sleep during the last trimester and now I find myself using it during feedings. The boppy pillow just doesn’t do it for me. I wrap this body pillow around me and it’s the perfect length to feed Leo and also give me some arm support. And for $12 at IKEA you seriously can’t beat that!

For Baby

Little Unicorn Swaddles : With Jax I used Little Unicorn swaddles and the same goes for Leo. I was gifted 2 of them and just bought 2 more. They are seriously the softest swaddles and the more you wash them the softer they get!

Bibs Pacifier from Mushie : This one is a new one to me. We never used a pacifier with Jax and don’t always use it with Leo but he took one while he was in the NICU so I purchased 2 sets of Bibs pacifiers for him just in case he decides that he wants it.

Baby Organics Hand Sanitizer : This is pretty self explanatory. We have one of these bottles in every room in the house. We’re teaching Jax the importance of having clean hands when touching Leo and this hand sanitizer makes it super easy.

Bag Balm : Ok, if y’all don’t know about this product you’re missing out. It’s a balm that was made for cow udders but I’ve been using it as a heavy duty lip balm for years and now I’ve been using on my boys booties for extra moisture and also for any rashes that they may have. It’s seriously the best!

Little Planet Organic by Carters : I was not aware of this line by Carters and we aren’t an all organic everything type of family but the softness of these sleepers and the patterns were just too cute to pass up. Plus they had premie sizes which I didn’t realize before but those sizes are really hard to come by.
